Release of New Special Covers on Sports- 500th Test match of Indian Cricket team - 24 September 2016 - Bangalore


This special cover is released to mark the occasion of the 500th Test match of Indian Cricket team. The match is being played at Kanpur from September 22 onward against New Zealand. The price of the cover is Rs 35/-

RIO PARALYMPICS - India's Medal Winners - Nation's Pride (KTK/16/2016) - 24 September 2016 - Bangalore



This special cover is released to commemorate Medal winners of India in Rio Paralympics. The Paralympics Games is a quadrennial multi-sport event, involving athletes with range of disabilities that include impaired muscle power, impaired passive range of movement, limb deficiency, vision impairment etc. All the winners are the first time Medal winners except Javelin thrower Shri Devendra Jhajharia - became the first Indian to clinch two gold medals (including a gold medal won earlier in 2004 Athens Paralympics).

Grant of initial installment of DA/DR to Central Government employees and pensioners w.e.f.1.7.2016

Central Government has a proposal to Pay 1% DA from July 2016 as an interim Measure

The Sources Close to the Ministry of finance informed that there is proposal to Pay 1% DA from July as an interim Measure.It is said that the Central Government has not yet decided about the DA rates in Revised Pay scale.

Sources close to Finance Ministry told that the initial installment of DA to central government employees on the revised pay structure w.e.f 1.7.2016 is under consideration. Mean time there is a proposal to pay the DA from July 2016 at the rate of 1% to all CG Staffs. It will be a shocking news for CG Staff, since they are already expecting 2 to 3% DA from July 2016.
PRU is asked to submit Financial Implication of 1% DA
But the fact is the Department of Expenditure has directed the PRU of the Finance Ministry to furnish the details of additional Financial Implications for 1% increase of DA with effect from 1.7.2016 on the revised Pay Structure.

Further the Pay Research Unit has been requested to furnish financial implications for the Period of July 2016 to February 2017 on account of granting 1% DA from July 2016 to all central government employees including Armed Forces and UT Employees.

According to the above information, it is believed that announcement of 1% DA for July installment may be made any time soon.

Congrats Guna, HRO, RMS, Trichy who won 3 silver and 1 bronze in postal athlete held at Ludhiyana

LUDHIANA: The 31st All India Postal Athletics & Cycling Tournament-2016 kicked off at Guru Nanak Stadium on Wednesday. As many as 182 participants of 12 teams from different states, and Army Postal Services will participate in 36 events.
Athletic events were organized at Guru Nanak Stadium, and cyclingcompetition at the velodrome of Punjab Agricultural University. On the first day, in the 1,500-metre race for men, Vivek Kumar of Rajasthan came first, Umesh Kuvar of Gujarat second, and R Ramesh of Andhra Pradesh third. In the 1,500-metre race for women, Ritu Dinkar of Rajasthan, SR Desai of Karnataka, and Hanha Baria of Gujarat took the first, second, and third spots respectively.
In long jump, Renu Bala of Odisha, G Lavanya of Tamil Nadu, and Manju Kumari of Rajasthan came first, second, and third respectively. In the 100-metre race for men, V Sanjay of Karnataka, Sajid NP of Kerala, and S Pandiyan of Tamil Nadu came first, second, and third respectively. In the 100-metre race for women, Renu Bala of Odisha, G Navanya of Tamil Nadu, and Disha Patel of Gujarat came first, second, and third respectively.

NFPE National Secretariat calls upon all Branch/Divisional/Circle Unions and Co-ordinating Committees to hold protest demonstrations in front of all Divisional offices and Circle offices on 3rd October 2016, protesting against the abnormal delay in granting enhanced bonus to GDs and also demanding immediate issuing orders for payment of enhanced bonus for the year 2014-15.
